Tyees and Sockeye

Langara Island Fishing Resorts - September 1, 2006

Though the Cohos have been elusive, the Chinook fishing here at Langara has been excellent. Several tyees have been brought to the dock, most of them caught at deeper depths (40 plus pulls) at Cohoe and Andrews Points. Interestingly, an unusually large number of sockeye have turned up at the dock.

Bottom fishing has been very fruitful, with two halibut, 81 and 102 pounds respectively, landed at Ocean Shoals. Furthermore, the last hali trip to the lighthouse netted over 30 halis of all sizes.
