Three Tyees at Bruin Bay

Langara Island Fishing Resorts - July 24, 2006

Langara fishing has improved drastically over the last 72 hours and Langara's famous Coho and Chinook salmon are in abundance.

Today the bite moved steadily down the east side as the day progressed. The first-light bite saw Chinooks caught DEEP in the McPherson area about 35-70 pulls. Coho were found a depths less than 25 pulls.

By lunch time, the bite had moved down to Andrews Pt and Cohoe Pt. With the ebbing tide, the action moved to the south side, and from Marchand Reef to Pillar Bay the fishing was between 10 and 25 pulls.

Bruin Bay again proved to be the location for big fish as three Tyees (31, 32, and 42 lbs) were caught there, with several more lost (of course!).
