Wow, hats off to Dave Pruitt and Graham Barnes (guests on the MV Marabell) who displayed the best example of team work I have ever seen.
I was somewhat confused when he pulled the zodiac only to see Graham holding onto a fishing rod in a somewhat awkward manner with Dave was operating the reel. A monster strike had snapped the rod right at the cork, only a couple inches above the reel, forcing Graham to clutch onto both pieces to keep the reel and rod functional. It quickly became a “three man gong show” as I hopped into the boat to net the fish. The culprit was a lingcod weighing in at the mid twenty range, who paid dearly for it insolence!
