I just returned from the first trip at the Charlotte Princess and am pleased to report to you that the fishing and weather were both outstanding. In fact, it may be the best fishing I’ve seen in my trips up there. Virtually everyone limited out on Chinook and released many as well. The largest fish of the trip was 38 pounds and I believe there were at least 7 fish over 30. So while the monster salmon may not have arrived yet, there are plenty of Chinook in the 15-30 pound range. The Coho had not arrived in numbers but I did see a couple come to the dock yesterday morning before we flew out, so they’re likely rolling in as well. Bottom fishing was also incredible as the weather allowed for some afternoon trips off the west side of the island off the Lighthouse where seas were flat calm.
