The fishing continues to be excellent at Langara Island. Andrews and McPherson Point have been the best spots this past week for fishing. At McPherson Point the Chinook are hitting right off the point in about 150 feet of water, 10 to 40 pulls.
Coho are everywhere and hitting aggressively! 8-12lbs is the average size but Darren Fung pulled in a 15 pound beauty three days ago.
Bob Wright and Jeff McKay had a run in with some Orcas while they were here. Two adult Orcas tried to feed one of their hooked Chinook to its baby but Bob had other ideas. He managed to tear the fish out of the whale's mouth and his fishing partner Jeff quickly scooped it up with the net. The whale circled the boat for a couple of minutes, staring at Bob and Jeff with what can only be described as shocked outrage! We saw the fish at the dock and the tooth marks proved their story!
Humpback whales are continuing to put on regular shows for guests. We've also been able to get Halibut from Cohoe Point and Lingcod and rockfish recently from Andrews and McPherson. It's been spectacular fishing all around...the best in years!
