Largest salmon of the season...so far!

MV Charlotte Princess - July 8, 2002

Congratulations to Cory Burke of Lakeside, California who nabbed a nice 60 lb. Chinook on the MV Charlotte Princess yesterday, the largest fish of the Oak Bay Marine Group season...so far.

The Queen Charlotte Islands have been experiencing some excellent weather with some days seeing calm seas and no winds. Anglers have been wrestling some energetic Chinook of various sizes with even the 20 lbers putting up incredible fights. These healthy fish are an indication of strong runs through the area. They're being joined by Coho and Pinks at the end of anglers' lines. Both Killer Whales and Humpback Whales continue to provide a good site for guests with the eagles and porpoises in the area as well.
