Langara Island Fishing Resorts - June 27, 2006Group #7 started their trip off with a splash, sporting a dockload of fish on their first afternoon here at Langara. 43, 35, 34, 31, 28 and a 26 lb. Chinook filled the dock, plus many fish over 20 lbs. by their sides.
McPherson Point turned out to be the hotspot on the high slack tide and its continued to produce large fish right up until 10 minutes ago when I left the water. Yesterday, a 40 and 35 pounder kept our daily streak of Chinooks over 40 lbs. alive.
A bottom fishing trip this morning saw all 11 boats limit on halis in less than half an hour. For those counting the days until their trip starts here at Langara my advice is to pick up the dumbells and pump those salmon wrangling muscles into shape — the average size for Chinook is still rising!
