Langara Island Fishing Report

Langara Island Fishing Resorts - June 9, 2006

At first light, Gunia Point was the place to be at Langara Island. Those anglers who could haul themselves out of bed for the 04:45 starting time were reward with a great bite and salmon ranging from 18 to 25 pounds.

Fishmaster Cookie lead a bottom fishing expedition off the Lighthouse that saw many lings and halibut added to the catch board.

The early afternoon bite was spotty with some salmon caught off Cohoe and Andrews Pts. But, as the tides returned to an ebb, Gunia was again the place to be. The magic number seemed to range between 9 and 20 pulls.

Today's weather would have one fooled to thinking it was late August. The constant sunshine with few clouds and light variable winds made for ideal conditions. Sun tanning at Langara? That's a new one.

Keep that rod tip up!
