Langara Island Fish Report
Langara Island Fishing Resorts - June 19, 2006Fishing conditions on the eastside of Langara Island proved to be ideal today. Eager first-light anglers were thrilled to see that the water of Egeria Bay was boiling with bait. Cohoe Pt (at the north end of the bay) was the spot be; anglers worked close to the kelp beds and came out smiling.
The bite remained on the east side of Langara Island for the majority of the day, shifting among Langara’s classic fishing holes: Andrews, McPherson, No Name, and Langara Rocks. Salmon activity seemed to slow down towards the late afternoon, meaning it was time for some bottom fishing.
Many guests reported seeing a pod of Orcas take on sealions at Langara Rocks, only to be broken up by the arrival of several humpback whales!
Today marked the arrival of some long-term MV Marabell guests: Ray Taylor, Tim Taylor (no relation), Dale Slawson, Allan and Jeff Kelley and, of course, the Yahama Boys with their ring leader Bob Parker. The salmon better hide if they know what's good for ‘em!
Captain Provan would like to thank everyone for the congratuatory emails about his octopus. He followed that performance tonight with a 27 pound Lingcod caught close to the buzzer at 9:30pm.
