Langara Island Fishing Resorts - August 2, 2006Hey folks, Cookie here. Fishing here at Langara has been steady for the last few days, with good fishing at McPherson and Gunia Points.
The derby winner for our Prince Rupert derby group caught a 37 lb. Chinook, narrowly beating out a 36 pounder caught the same day. In fact, guests topped their limits off with 37, 36, 33 and 30 lb Chinooks on their last morning at Langara — not a bad way to end a trip, and the sort of happy story that we love up here.
A 90 lb halibut came in yesterday amongst many Chinooks over 20lbs. The average Coho size is now at 8 ½ lbs and growing.
