Jim Hoy sent us a pic of the 62 pounder he caught yesterday, and wrote this:

The day started off on a sour note. We lost a spring to a sea lion and things were slow so we decided to mooch close to the kelp at Cohoe Pt.
We made our turn in about 30 feet of water and within 50 feet of the shore. My rod doubled over, but for five minutes it didn’t run. Then off it went… after 20 minutes I finally saw the fish.
We were now about a half mile from where I hooked him. It took another 25-30 minutes to finally get it in the boat after numerous runs and dives. It was a complete surprise when it turned out to be a 62 lb. Spring.
Thanks to Cookie for circling our boat to ward off sea lions and providing encouragement.
