Hali hunting at Langara Island
Langara Island Fishing Resorts - June 7, 2007
Fishing for the first two groups on the MV Charlotte Princess has been steady with 20 fish over 30 lbs. brought to the scales, the biggest weighing 37 lbs.
Andrews point has been the best producer for the week; however, all the major points have produced fish.
Bottom fishing has been nothing less than awesome. The past few days we have had NW and westerly winds limiting our options for bottom-fishing trips. I did find two new spots only minutes from the boat: The Rockpile and O’Halishoal, as they are now named.
We were fishing 100′ of water and got some Lings, rockcod and the following halibut: Scott Glen — 63 lbs.; Jerry Brunet — 23 lbs.; Rolf Soth — 87 lbs.; — Nick Daoust 27 lbs.; Dan Villeneuve — 55 lbs.; Greg Kilpatrick — 30 lbs.; Coleen Tucker — 60 lbs; and, our first Masterfisherman of the season, Murray Jarvis with a 106 lb. barn door.
I’m looking forward to doing some more research and fishing with you all for these shallow-water slabs.
Tight Lines,
