Hi Folks. If you want unbelievable fishing then you need to come to the MV Charlotte Princess at Langara Island. We have had light winds and calm seas for three days. I went out yesterday morning to locate the ever elusive Chinook salmon.
Boy was I in for a surprise!! I could not cut my bait fast enough to keep up with the action. It was Chinook after Chinook with a few Coho mixed in for acrobatic excitement. Every one of our guests got into multiple salmon. In the afternoon Cookie lead our very popular bottom fishing trips to the west side of the island and there were numerous yelloweye and lingcod brought to the dock as well as three very impressive halibut weighing in at 77 lbs caught by Daniel Price, 75 lbs caught by Brian Zimmerman and a 56 pounder, caught by Vittorio Preto.
I thought that was a great day but early reports this morning are that there are more fish being caught at Andrew Point in more numbers and even bigger then yesterday. Cookie has reported that everyone is hooking up with double headers and even a few triple headers! So far, the largest Chinook to hit the dock for trip 5 is a beautiful 36 pounder caught by Thomas Dunston. I am not sure if that one will hold up as biggest Chinook of the trip...can you say feeding frenzy?
Tight lines,
