Bruin Bay coming on

Langara Island Fishing Resorts - July 3, 2007

Bruin Bay (just south of Langara Island) is coming on strong for the evening bite. Jim Harlow and Bill Luettger both pulled some nice Tyees from there last night. Congrats to Adam Vegas who caught his first Chinook ever in Fury Bay (near Lacy Island).

Once again the weather has driven boats to the west side of Langara Island but it continues to produce solid fishing. Cohoe Point remains our most reliable spot—a great place to send people new to the area so they can catch fish and get into the swing of mooching, one of the most rewarding styles of angling there is.

Bottom fishing in Parry Pass has slowed down, but when the weather allows, the spots west of Lacy Island and the Lighthouse are yielding nice halibut and Lingcod. Some of our veteran guests have been fishing the inshore side of Langara Rocks. This is a challenging spot with an uneven bottom, kelp beds and strong currents, but those that know how to work it are consistently finding good Chinook fishing.
