A New Masterfisherman

Langara Island Fishing Resorts - June 3, 2006

Easing winds made for better fishing conditions for all of Lanagara.  Fishmasters Shawn "Cookie" Pennel and Marshall Horne led a bottom fishing expedition a mile west of the Lighthouse.  Many lingcod in the 20 pound range were caught, with several halibut, including a monsterous 108 pounder creating a new masterfishermen (the first for the MV Charlotte Princess).

The afternoon saw bites in the areas of Andrews Pt. and Macpherson Pt., with a late night bite at Cohoe Pt that kept many eager anglers away from dinner service.

As for wildlife, over the last three days, everyone has been awed by dancing humpback whales deep off the Eastside, some jumping clear out of the water. Reports from Langara Rocks say that the male sea lions have been fighting for dominance and rock space.

Sharp hooks,

Marabell crew.
