- Explorer Bay
-
54° 14′ N; 132° 58′ W
Located in between the better-known Andrews and McPherson Points, Explorer Bay is often passed-up for what people assume to be better locations. But many big fish have been taken at Explorer Bay in recent years, including Roy Castelsky’s 70 pounder in 2004, plus 40 and 50 pounders too numerous to mention.
- McPherson Point
-
54° 15′ N; 132° 59′ W
McPherson Point on Langara Island’s north east corner is a perennial favourite for salmon fishermen.McPherson produces well on an ebb tide and early on the flood.
This was the site of MV Marabell guest Robin Turnbull’s 69 lb. monster catch.
- Bruin Bay
-
54° 10′ N; 132° 59′ W
Located almost directly across from the MV Marabell and the MV Charlotte Princess is Bruin Bay. It is so close to the ships that most guests unconsciously feel that the further they travel the bigger the fish are. Not true! Historically some of the biggest fish every season are caught here, less than ten minutes away by boat.
Most of the action happens during the flood tide as the currents push the fish in from the open waters through Parry Passage. The “honey hole” is the western tip of the bay.

- Boulder Bay
-
Boulder Bay is located between Gunia Point and Pillar Rock on the north-east corner of Graham Island. Late-summer Coho action can be incredible at Boulder, especially on a rising tide.
The currents tend to push schools of baitfish right along the shoreline causing the salmon to feed aggressively.
